THE CROSS BEET HARVESTER RANGE

The Cross Beet Harvester Range is based on the Armer Salmon harvester. These harvesters are tried and tested, and have been one of the market leaders for the last 30 years. Their simple compact design makes them less expensive to run and maintain than others on the market. All drives are hydrostatic giving infinite adjustability and less moving parts. These harvesters are now being sold under the Cross name. These harvesters are unique in the way they pull the beet by the root rather than by the bulb. This means no stones are brought in with the crop. This will decrease washing costs, and will prevent stones getting into feed or doing damage to the diet feeder.

Cross Beet Harvesters are equipped with automatic row finder sensors, which keep the coulters in position. The adjustable crowning system allows the machine to be set up to work well in any conditions. This minimises losses and means this machine can compete with any on the market. To minimise tare the carousel has been redesigned to try and knock off as much dirt as possible.

The 3.5 tonne hopper gives the machine ample harvest time between fills. It can be raised to 3 metres to clear the trailer sideboard. It is a quick process, so it doesn't slow the operator down too much. This machine is capable of harvesting 1 acre per hour in most crops.

Beet Harvester Overview

No Stones Lifted

By lifting the beet by the root and not the bulb, the Cross Beet harvesters don't pick any stones. The coulter discs align the beet, and are then pinched by the belts. A plough moves under the bulb helping it out of the ground. The beet move up the line and are then crowned before being put onto the carousel. Here the dirt gets knocked off the beet to give a clean finished product. The beet then travel up the elevator and into the hopper.

New Carousel

Quality Guaranteed

As part of Cross Engineering's constant machine improvement, the carousel on the beet harvesters has been redesigned to improve soil removal. A cleaner crop means less washing, and less soil life issues.

This compact cleaning mechanism means the whole machine is as small as possible. This makes it easier to use in the field and on the road.

Fast Unloading

The Cross Beet Harvesters are fast to unload, as the whole hopper is dumped out at once rather than using an unloading elevator like some other machines. The hopper can be raised to 3 metres to clear the trailer sideboard.
